The City of Helsinki offers several alternatives for youths who did not receive a study place in the spring joint application period.

There are opportunities in tenth form, Vocational Education and Training (VET), preparatory training for immigrants (Mava), youth workshops, upper secondary schools for adults and apprenticeship training. More information: Prepatory training for basic vocational education.

The application period for VET, Mava and tenth form is 12 July–10 August. Educational alternatives are presented on the Tenth Form and Other Options -brochure on page Brochures and guides. It is available in English, Arabic, Russian and Somalian.

Study places still available after the spring round of applications can be applied for during the supplementary application period from 12th to 23rd July, 2010.
