The Koronavilkku app has alerted me – what do I do?
If the Koronavilkku app on your phone sends you an alert, it means you have potentially been exposed to the coronavirus. The app will provide you with instructions about what to do.
Please book a test when you receive an alert of potential exposure on Koronavilkku.
You will not be placed into quarantine based on the app’s alert. The Epidemiologic Operations Unit will contact you if the infection chain tracing determines you have been in close contact with an infected person.
Koronavilkku is a contact tracing app produced by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) to help you find out whether you may have been exposed to coronavirus. If you have a coronavirus test and are diagnosed as infected, you can use the app to share this information anonymously with those you have been in close contact with. Your privacy is strongly protected. (Source: Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare)
