Health stations provide primary health care services. They are the principal units of care for Helsinki residents. As necessary, health stations can refer customers to further examinations and care.
Customers are cared for by teams consisting of a doctor and a nurse. Health stations also provide services by psychiatric nurses and substance abuse workers, as well as emergency services by physiotherapists. Customers are referred to a psychiatric nurse by a nurse or a doctor, who assesses their needs for care.
The service is only for citizens of Helsinki.
