Contact materials

The operator, which to the market introduces material and products which will be in contact with alimentary products has to make an notification of his place of business and the activities performed there.

The notification is made to the competent authority of the local municipality. If the operator acts in multiple municipalities, an announcement is sent to the officers of each municipality separately.

Those who are obliged to announce:

- the producers of the of the materials which are used to further produce contact materials and other equipment
- the producers of the contact material itself
- the operator which perform stock sales of the contact material (non retail)
- the operator which import and export contact materials from the inner market within the EU region or outside of it
