Volunteer work helpers in services for the disabled

The volunteer takes part in various groups, facilitating customers' active participation in group activities. These groups may be, for example, arts and crafts, baking, sports, music or story groups.

The meetings are arranged in collaboration with the customers and counsellors. The work can be sporadic or regular. Meetings are held at an activity centre, on weekdays between 9: 30 and 11: 00 or between 13: 00 and 15: 00.

Many customers need help and support in order to participate in activities. The volunteer facilitates the customer's participation in group activities. As a result, waiting times are shortened and the customer receives support for their activities.

The volunteer receives experience in counselling work and helps make a difference.

The person responsible for the activities, who should be notified in case of accidents or incidents, is the director or contact person of voluntary operations.
