Language-enriched education

Limited bilingual education, also called language-enriched education, is education where 25% of the subject content is taught in a language other than the school’s language of instruction. The proportion is calculated for the total annual number of hours in grades where language-enriched education is offered. The proportion of the second language is defined in the school-specific curricula.

The objectives of the various subjects and the learning outcomes at the end of comprehensive education are the same as in comprehensive education without language enrichment. Language-enriched education encourages and activates pupils to use the second language and develop the different areas of language skills effectively.

Applying for language-enriched education does not require an aptitude test.
