Evening and round-the-clock care

Round-the-clock care refers to care provided between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am and at weekends in addition to regular daycare. Round-the-clock care is available to parents who have a regular need for it due to their work or studies.

Round-the-clock daycare centres are open at all hours of the day every day of the week.

Evening care is provided in certain daycare centres until 10:00 pm.

The child’s care hours are based on the parents' work shifts or study schedules. When the need for round-the-clock care ends or decreases or when the allocated daycare place is not used to the agreed extent, the child in question is moved to a non-round-the-clock daycare unit or group.

In addition, occasional round-the-clock daycare can be provided in a round-the-clock group or daycare centre. The child's required care hours for the coming week should be notified no later than by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday of the previous week.

Round-the-clock daycare centres are on call during the summer and holidays on separate notice.
