Extensive bilingual pre-primary education

In extensive bilingual pre-primary education, about 25% to 50% of the instruction is given in a language other than Finnish.

In bilingual pre-primary education, the teacher uses the target language in the instruction and daily activities. The target language is used alongside Finnish in plaing, singing and other activities. The goal of extensive bilingual pre-primary education education is to familiarise the children with the new language and foster a positive attitude towards learning a new language. Bilingual pre-primary education acts as a natural support for multilingualism and the meeting of cultures.
