Compensation for children born in 2014

Since August 2018, municipal early education services provide non-chargeable early education for 5-year-old children for four hours a day and 20 hours a week.  In its meeting on 17 April 2018, the Education Committee decided to pay compensation for children born in 2014 also to private early education providers.

The sum payable to a private service provider enables a reduced care fee and continued childcare in private day care, and it is also possible to continue in pre-primary education next year.

Amount of compensation

A compensation of EUR 160 is paid to private early education providers for the duration of August–May (10 months).

Applying for compensation

For payment of the compensation, the service provider shall fill in the form Compensation application for 5-year-old children born in 2014. The compensation application shall include the names of the children born in 2013 as well as the start date and, later, end date of the care. The first compensation application shall be submitted with an attachment concerning children born in 2014, including signatures from the child’s parents and the service provider.

In the compensation application, the provider agrees to allocate the compensation money for a reduced care fee of five-year-old children.

Payment of the compensation

The compensation application shall be sent on the 20th day of the current month at the earliest; the compensation shall be paid by the 15th day of the following month at the latest. Therefore, the first applications must be submitted on 20 August at the earliest.
