Environmental protection programmes

The City of Helsinki no longer has a city-wide environmental programme. Instead, the focus of the City’s environmental management is on more limited programmes, as well as on administrative bodies’ own environmental programmes and systems.

Over the last few years, the City has produced many environmental programmes for specific areas of operations. These programmes form parts of the overall environmental management of the City. 

They include the development programme of the energy company Helsingin Energia, a climate action plan, a noise prevention plan and a programme to secure biodiversity.
