Emergency health care services for those under 16 years old are available at the New Children's Hospital, located at Stenbäckinkatu 9, tel. +358 (0)9 4711 (switchboard).
24/7 emergency care services for those over 16 years old are provided at the emergency rooms of Haartman Hospital and Malmi Hospital.

Your primary care location in case of acute mental health and substance abuse problems is your local health station. Health stations are open on weekdays 8-16. Health station staff also include nurses specialising in mental health and substance abuse issues.
If you are 13–23 years of age and in need of advice or help with substance abuse, mental health or gaming problems, you can contact the Helsinki Youth Station in Finnish, which is open on weekdays. You can also contact the Youth Station for advice if you are a family member or friend of a young person suffering from substance abuse, gaming or mental health problems.
If you are an adult in need of urgent care for a severe psychiatric problem, you can contact the acute working groups of psychiatric outpatient clinics. Psychiatric outpatient clinics are open Monday to Friday. If you already have an established treatment relationship at a psychiatric outpatient clinic, you can visit the clinic in urgent situations without an appointment on weekday mornings between 9:30 and 10:00.
You can visit substance abuse outpatient clinics without an appointment and participate in the alcohol detoxification treatment provided at the clinics on weekday mornings between 9:00 and 10:30. Substance abuse outpatient clinics can provide you with a care needs assessments as well as guidance and advice in matters related to substance abuse services.
