The Non-Discrimination Commission furthers non-discrimination, equal treatment and the development of a plural Helsinki within the services of the City of Helsinki. The Commission's goal is to raise awareness about the significance of non-discrimination for the well-being and health of the citizens of Helsinki. In order to reach its goals, the Commission follows up on studies on the situation of population groups that are vulnerable to discrimination.
The City Board has appointed seven elected officials to the Non-Discrimination Commission. The work of the Non-Discrimination Commission is prepared by the presenter. The Commission convenes about every two months. The Non-Discrimination Commission opened its first term in autumn 2017.
