Helsinki Skills Center

You can apply to services provided by the Skills Center via the Employment and Economic Development Office or social services.

At the Helsinki Skills Center, your skills will be assessed to evaluate your education and competence. A plan will be drawn up for you, detailing how you can develop your competence and language skills.

After the competence assessment, you will be guided to the next step.

Your options are:
- Vocational workshops where you will learn professional skills and Finnish vocabulary in your own professional field. The vocational workshops include, for example, construction workshops, nursing workshops, and engineering and metalwork workshops.
- Finnish language workshops where you can study the language while learning about the different study options.
- Job coaching (työelämävalmennus) where you can get help in finding or starting a job. You can get support in various languages, including Arabic, Somali and English.
