GALA - A Celebration of Minority Groups at Baltic Circle Festival
Photo Baltic Circle Festival
GALA is part of the 10th Baltic Circle Festival, which is arranged 13-17 November in Helsinki. Baltic Circle is an international contemporary theatre festival, that shows performances you won´t see anywhere else.
Everything can be questioned. The Icelandic performance collective Kviss búmm bang puts a question mark on our daily conventions, rituals and habits. With their performances they create a world and a social structure, where the participants actively experience a different view of the meanings that we give to our environment.
Such a question mark is GALA - A Celebration of Minority Groups that the collective will hold at the theatre Q-Teatteri on the 14th of November. GALA brings a range of people with different backgrounds together who all belong to a minority of some kind. The crossbreed between a performance, a celebration and a community event will give the participants a chance to reflect on their own identity and position in relation to others, in a festive and humorous setting.
The performance language is English.
