Infopankki is a multilingual website providing vital information to people planning to move to Finland or immigrants already living in the country. The site also provides a multilingual communication channel to many authorities. The renewed site is now available at www.infopankki.fi

To celebrate the new Infopankki website, all immigrants are invited to take part in the video competition ‘My Infopankki – five tips for people moving to Finland’.

Extensive information for people moving to Finland

Visitors to the Infopankki website will find concrete information on issues such as the rights and duties of an employee, establishing an enterprise, Finnish and Swedish language courses, buying a home, what to do when you fall ill, how to enrol your child in school, how to vote and what ‘everyman's rights’ are, just to mention few. Alternatively, content can also be explored through different situations in life.

The content of the new Infopankki site has been produced in co-operation with different authorities and organisations. The Social Insurance Institution of Finland, Kela, is one of Infopankki's partners.

”Through Infopankki, we at Kela can offer our clients multilingual information about the services we provide. Infopankki is also an excellent tool for our service advisors,” says Seija Kauppinen, Communications Manager at Kela.

Now easier to find relevant information

The new site structure makes it easier to find relevant information. All information is now categorised under three main themes: Moving to Finland, Living in Finland and Information about Finland. The front page of each language version features various links to contents, making it easy to navigate to an interesting topic.

The visual image of the new Infopankki site was created by Hahmo Design Oy. ”The biggest challenge of designing the site was to distinguish the diverse mass of interlocking information in a user-friendly way. The solutions we came up with, such as the clear icon system and simple typography, are designed to make it easy to find information,” states Antti Raudaskoski, Creative Director at Hahmo Design.

Open video competition

To celebrate the new website, all immigrants are invited to take part in the ‘My Infopankki’ video competition. You can enter the competition by making a video providing tips on what you should know if you are moving to Finland. The best videos will be published on the Infopankki website. Competition entries will be accepted until 1 December 2013.

The length of the video should be between 1 and 3 minutes. The video can be in any of the Infopankki languages, which include Finnish, Swedish, English, Russian, Estonian, French, Serbo-Croatian, Somali, Spanish, Turkish, Albanian, Chinese, Kurdish (Sorani), Persian and Arabic.
