The audit department, as a subordinate to the audit committee, assess the implementation of the targets set to the city and the city group by the city council, and assists the Auditor on the auditing of the city administration and finances. The audit department assists the committee with monitoring of the declarations of interest. The head of the department is Mr. Timo Terävä, audit director, CPFA.
The audit department has been active for over 100 years. The office was founded in 1911 with the name revision office. The revision office was turned into the audit department in 1998.
