HSL public transport will switch to normal summer timetables from 15 June. Most of the services have been operating a reduced timetable since spring because of the coronavirus so changes for example to bus lines are minor. Street and track works will also affect to public transport.
Changes to R and Z train services and reduced K train service 15 June - 9 August
Because of a bridge work in Pukinmäki R and Z trains will operate a reduced service outside of rush hours. During rush hours, there will be two R trains per hour. Other times and weekends R train will run once in an hour. There are also changes to Z train and D trains will not operate during the summer months.
K trains will operate a reduced service running every 20 minutes Monday to Friday 6am to 7pm, but the trains will have extra carriages throughout the day Monday to Friday.
The metro switch to summer timetable
At rush hours, the Metro will run between Itäkeskus and Tapiola every 3.75 minutes. Services to Matinkylä as well as to Mellunmäki and Vuosaari will run every 7.5 minutes.
Majority of buses will continue to operate their current timetables
Buses have been operating a reduced summer timetable since 20 April. Most of the buses will continue to operate their current timetables. There will be a Sunday service on Saturdays and no extended night service on Friday and Saturday nights.
Suomenlinna ferry will switch to summer timetables already on 13 June
The Suomenlinna ferry will operate a more frequent summer service from Saturday 13 June due to increased demand. A more frequent weekday service has been operating since 8 June. Passenger numbers on the ferry are limited to ensure physical distancing onboard the ferry.
Tram timetables will change and tram routes 2, 7 and 9 diverted
All tram timetables will change on 15 June but headways will mainly remain unchanged. Tram 5 is not running until further notice. Tram 2 will be diverted from Monday 15 June. Tram routes 7 and 9 will be diverted from 29 June to 12 July.
