Enjoy a safe visit to the Suomenlinna fortress!

Services in Suomenlinna have gradually reopened with required safety precautions from 1  June.

Opening hours of services

There are six museums, fourteen restaurants and cafés, arts and crafts studios, a hostel, guided walking tours and much more to discover at the fortress. We recommend you follow our opening hours and events calendar where local service providers update their opening hours. You can also follow the service providers’ own channels to get the updated information.

Ferries and waterbuses to operate with safety in mind

Suomenlinna is only accessible by water. Therefore, the public transport ferries (HSL) and JT-Line waterbuses will take good care of the safety of their passengers and personnel on board.

The Suomenlinna ferry will operate a more frequent service on weekdays from Monday 8 June. The ferry will operate the weekend timetable also on weekdays, i.e. the ferry from the Market Square to Suomenlinna will operate the same timetable every day of the week.

HSL monitors passenger numbers and official guidelines related to the pandemic carefully. The HSL ferry will operate with reduced timetables and the number of passengers will be reduced until further notice. During business days (Mon-Fri) you can also reach Suomenlinna with the service ferry from Katajanokka. On board the service ferry, there is a lot more space on deck. JT-Line waterbuses operate to Suomenlinna, Lonna and Vallisaari. Only a limited number of passengers will be allowed on board at a time to ensure passenger safety.

We ask all visitors to follow our instructions related to the coronavirus situation. Let’s keep the necessary safety distances and take care of good hand hygiene! We recommend paying by card instead of cash at any of the services.
