Mask distribution proceeds smoothly, new service point opens in Vuosaari

A City of Helsinki campaign to supply the city’s needy with free face masks has gotten off to a good start, with no crowding recorded at distribution points and enough masks to go around at each location. Some 17,000 packages of masks have been handed out to date, including about 4,600 in connection with food aid deliveries, 4,000 in association with social service and health care customer visits, and another 8,500 or so distributed from other locations.

A new distribution point will be opened in the eastern Helsinki district of Vuosaari next week. The Vuosaari Church at Satamasaarentie 7 will begin handing out masks on Wednesday, 2 September. This new distribution point will be open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 12 pm and on Fridays from 3-6 pm.

Please consult the City of Helsinki website for more information on mask distribution points and schedules.
