The first articulated trams were placed in service on line 10
in 1973. They were supplied by Valmet. The grey and orange colour scheme was not popular
among the public. In 1986-1995 articulated trams were repainted in traditional yellow and
green.
A wire insulator is a small but important object for tram safety. Trams take electricity
from overhead lines carrying 600 volt current. Insulators prevent electricity from
reaching supporting wires.
