This is how far we have come in a hundred years: To begin
with Helsinki had about 13 kilometres of electrified tramlines. Now (2004) the network
totals 75 kilometres. Services began with 35 trams. In 2000 the city has 105 trams.
Tram passengers are able to pay fares with a smart card which can be loaded with time or money.
Grass lines help keep down dust while improving the citys appearance. About 10 kilometres of the network is suitable for grass lines
