An employee of the City of Helsinki’s eastern home care unit has accessed the contact or health information of approximately 140 people without permission.
This was discovered as one person suspected that their medical records had been viewed for no reason.
The data security breach is carefully investigated and processed in accordance with the City of Helsinki’s data security breach policy. Labour law measures have been taken, and the employee is no longer employed by home care.
The City of Helsinki has notified the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman of the data breach. All parties involved have been informed of the data breach with a letter.
