Daycare centres are the most common form of early childhood education. Helsinki has around 350 municipal daycare centres.
Family daycare means care in a smaller group in a home-like environment. It is a great option for toddlers and children aged 3–5 in particular.
If you are caring for your child at home, you can apply for child home care allowance.
You can also choose private early childhood education for your child, and apply for private daycare allowance.
