A narrow park plan is being prepared for the northern section of Stansvikinkallio, as it is needed for the construction of residential blocks in the area. The plan draft will be displayed on the City’s website until 30 March.
The plan concerns an area of roughly 0.2 hectares located between blocks reserved for housing construction. The plan is being created to facilitate construction of the plots.
Because the current ground level is higher than the ground floor of the buildings, the bedrock must be excavated around the upcoming blocks. The park plan will determine how the excavation will be carried out and how construction will be coordinated with the adjacent nature area. After the construction process, trees and multi-species vegetation will be planted in the excavated areas.
The current rocky outcrop area is located in the middle of the planning area and will be preserved in its natural state. In the future, the top of the rock could feature a wood chip trail and a light fence to protect the vegetation.
The park plan will be based on the current detailed plan from 2020. The detailed plan features a broad forested park area with passageways in the middle of the residential area. The park plan is now being created for only a small area, the planning of which is necessary for building the plots that are already reserved for housing.
The City is currently preparing a new detailed plan for Stansvikinkallio, i.e. a so-called reassessment of the Stansvikinkallio detailed plan. The park plan will not affect the reassessment of the detailed plan.
The park plan will be completed this spring. The implementation schedule of the plan will depend on the progress of street and housing construction in the area.
