The cities of Espoo, Helsinki and Vantaa do not issue EU Covid certificates for vaccines administered abroad. If you need an EU Covid certificate, we ask you to contact the place where you received your vaccine.
It has been recommended that the municipalities would issue EU Covid certificates for vaccines given abroad, even if some of the municipalities in the capital region do not even have the technical means to provide Covid certificates for persons who were vaccinated abroad.
The municipality records the vaccines that they give in the online patient information system, and those records generate the EU Covid certificate at My Kanta Pages. The municipalities are therefore not officially issuing the certificates. The certificate that has been generated at My Kanta Pages can be printed out by the municipality if the client cannot print the certificate or download it on their smartphone.
If you were vaccinated abroad, our health care staff can add this information to the online patient information system, but My Kanta Pages do not generate a vaccination certificate for these vaccinations.
The certificate is issued by the country or municipality where the vaccine was administered
The EU Covid certificate is issued by the country or Finnish municipality where the vaccine was administered.
Please request your certificate from the country where you were vaccinated. A Covid certificate issued by an EU country is accepted by all other EU countries as long as the certificate complies with the common practices. The EU Covid certificate serves as a Covid passport in Finland.
It is currently not possible to issue certificates to third-country nationals for vaccinations given abroad.
