Starting from 1 June 2021, the Helsinki supplement of child home care allowance will be removed from children over the age of 1.
Child home care allowance can be applied for by families who have a child under the age of 3 being taken care of at home by the child’s parent, the married or cohabiting spouse of the parent or guardian, a hired caregiver or other person who looks after the child. Payment of the allowance ends at the latest when the family's youngest child turns 3.
In its meeting on 15 December 2020, the Education Committee decided to limit the Helsinki supplement of child home care allowance to children under the age of 1.
Starting from 1 June 2021, the Helsinki supplement of child home care allowance for children under the age of 1 will be €264 per month.
