The City of Helsinki provides annual grants for non-profit activities that support the City’s operations and goals. These various grants can be applied for by registered associations, businesses and foundations as well as unregistered associations, action groups and private individuals.
Helsinki Capital Region open data – available to everyone for free
Helsinki Region Infoshare (HRI) is a joint open data service for the cities of Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen. The service includes data on the cities of the Capital Region and the region itself that is available free of charge for everyone to use, whether for private or business use.
The data can be freely downloaded and made use of in, for example, research and development, decision-making, visualisation, application development or data journalism. There are already various ways that the open data has been used.
The City produces versatile open data
Open data refers to, for example, public data generated or collected by the public administration, organisations or businesses that has been made available free of charge to anybody in a structured format. This data consists of statistics, financial figures, maps, images, video recordings and 3D models.
Among other things, the service includes statistics on the population, economy and well-being in the Helsinki Region. Additionally, the service includes various time series, a wide variety of geospatial data as well as popular application programming interfaces that can even provide data in real time.
