Students in upper secondary schools and vocational institutes can receive COVID-19 vaccinations in Helsinki mainly in their own schools 1-10 September. The vaccination is provided at schools to everyone, regardless of their municipality of residence.
Vaccinations will start at different times in different educational institutions, and the times will be announced via the Wilma system. You do not need to make an appointment for a vaccination at the institutions.
If a student has already received their first vaccination, he/she can receive the second COVID-19 vaccination dose if at least eight weeks have elapsed since the first vaccination. In this case, it would be a good idea for the student to bring documentation concerning the first vaccination with them.
- The best way to ensure that students can study at the schools is a high vaccination coverage. At present, 74 per cent of 16-19-year-olds have received the first vaccination dose. Now when the availability is better, we hope that even more people get vaccinated, says Medical Director of Health Stations Timo Lukkarinen.
- When vaccines are given in educational institutions, it is easy and quick for students to receive the vaccine. There is no need to reserve time for the vaccination in advance, and it is available in the same place where you go anyway because of your studies, Lukkarinen continues.
The young person can decide for themselves to be vaccinated. If a young person does not want to decide regarding their vaccination or is unable to, administering the vaccine requires their guardians’ consent. Consent

The COVID-19 vaccinations can also be received without an appointment at Helsinki's vaccination points in Jätkäsaari, Malmi, Messukeskus and Myllypuro, as well as pop-up
vaccination points.
