All Finnish citizens over the age of 18 by election day have the right to vote in Finland’s parliamentary elections.
On election day, a person entitled to vote may only vote at their own polling station. Your polling station on the day of the election is given in the notice of right to vote that should have been sent to you by post. See this list of official Helsinki polling stations on election day for more information.
At the polling station, you will be required to confirm your identity with a driving licence, passport, a police-issued ID card, or a similar valid official identity card with a photo.
In Finland’s parliamentary elections, citizens elect 200 Members of Parliament to serve a four-year term. The Finnish Parliament is the highest state body in Finland. It enacts laws and decides on state finances.
