The work on the building constructed in 1909 will involve renovating its damaged exterior structures, facades, roof, windows, exterior doors and building services engineering. The renovations will respect the historical values of the building.

The museum will be closed during the project.  The museum and its individual units will be available for a virtual tour at: https://workerhousingmuseum.fi/worker-housing-museum-360/(Link leads to external service).

Impact of the worksite

The worksite area will be fenced. For safety reasons, pedestrians will be directed away from the building walls on the Kirstikuja street. This will also affect streetside parking. The work will be carried out mostly inside covered scaffolding.

The work will take place mainly between 7.00 and 15.30. However, some stages may also take place at other times. The worksite will involve the usual sounds of a renovation site, such as hammering. Deliveries to and from the worksite will increase traffic, especially on Kirstinkuja.
