The strike threatened by Helsinki's southern home care unit has been cancelled. The Helsinki District Court prohibited the organisations from starting a strike under threat of a fine. The Union of Health and Social Care Professionals in Finland – Tehy and the Finnish Union of Practical Nurses – SuPer cancelled their planned four-day strike.
“This is a great relief for our customers and their loved ones," says Helena Venetvaara, Director of Nursing, Southern Service District.
