Indoor sports facilities administrated by the City of Helsinki will be opened in a staggered manner as of 2 August 2021. The services being opened up will follow the current official guidelines and health safety measures.
In August, Helsinki’s indoor sports facilities will be available for exercise use more extensively than before. Latokartano, Maunula and Ruskeasuo Sports Halls will be opened in accordance with their normal opening hours on Monday 2 August 2021. Itäkeskus Swimming Hall will be opened on Wednesday 4 August.
Pirkkola Swimming Hall will be opened on Monday 9 August, while Jakomäki and Yrjönkatu Swimming Halls and Kontulan Kuntokellari Gym will be opened on Monday 30 August.
Töölö Sports Hall, Liikuntamylly, the indoor facilities of Oulunkylä Sports Park, the Swimming Stadium gym, the ball game hall and gym of Pirkkola Sports Park and the football halls of Tali and Myllypuro have been open since July.
The indoor sports facilities follow the current official guidelines and health safety measures. In practice, this means measures such as minimising contact, maintaining good hand hygiene and keeping a safe distance from others. The use of a face mask is recommended for everyone over the age of 12 when indoors, unless there is a health reason to wearing a mask. A face mask does not need to be used during a sports performance. Furthermore, time spent in the locker rooms and toilets of the indoor sports facilities must be deemed to be necessary.
The coronavirus situation will be monitored constantly, and any changes will be reacted to quickly if necessary.
