Remote video appointments with the maternity and child health clinic for the first appointment of the pregnancy can be made as of December 2021. The customer can choose whether they would like to have a video appointment or visit the clinic in person.

Customers can make video appointments with the maternity and child health clinic in the Maisa(Link leads to external service) service. They must sign in to Maisa at the agreed time of their appointment. Remote visits can be attended from anywhere.

The content of the first visit of the pregnancy is the same at the clinic and in the remote appointment, with the exception of blood pressure and weight, which cannot be measured during the remote appointment. Customers must measure their blood pressure and weight on reliable equipment at the maternity and child health clinic, family centre or occupational health care self-care station, for example, before the video appointment. Taking these measurements at home is not sufficient, unfortunately.

The first appointment during a pregnancy is always carried out at the clinic if the customer has a basic illness, does not know how far along they are or needs an interpreter for the appointment. In this situation, the appointment for the first visit of the pregnancy must be made at the clinic by calling the telephone service of the maternity and child health clinic, tel. +358 (0)9 310 55530 (Mon–Fri 8.00–14.00).

The video clinic is optimised for the Google Chrome browser.

Video appointments for the first visit of the pregnancy can be made at www.maisa.fi(Link leads to external service). Video appointments will be made available in December.
