Until the end of 2021, Daycare & Education Guidance (+358 (0)9 310 33444), an additional guidance on daycare and schools will be offered particularly to international families on Mondays and Wednesdays at 2 pm–5 pm.
The Service Information Department of the Education Division (+358 (0)9 310 44986) advises Helsinki residents in education-related matters from Monday to Friday 10am−12 noon and 1 pm−3 pm.

The service is aimed at families who have moved or are planning to move to Helsinki from abroad. Customer service is available in Finnish and English, and helps you with any questions about daycare centres and schools, the different options, applying to daycare or school, e-services, or filling in application forms. You can also ask us about clubs or playground activities or the study paths after comprehensive school.
The infoFinland.fi(Link leads to external service) website can also be a useful source of information for families who are moving or have recently moved to Finland. The website includes key information about moving to Finland, work, studies, housing, education, health, family, potential problems, and free-time activities. The service is available in Finnish, Swedish, English, Russian, Estonian, French, Somali, Spanish, Turkish, Chinese, Farsi, and Arabic.
Guidance and support is also available for distance learning and exceptional teaching arrangements caused by the coronavirus
In addition to the customer service numbers mentioned above, the Education Division has opened a helpline providing guidance in matters related to teaching arrangements during the pandemic. We will answer questions in Finnish and English on +358 (0)9 310 10025 from Monday to Friday 9 am–5 pm, and in Swedish on +358 (0)9 310 10027 9 am–5 pm.
