EdTech Incubator Helsinki aims to help companies create a strong basis for business. The programme is now being organised for the fifth time and applications can be submitted until 30 April 2023.

Programme to strengthen business plan, educational impact and marketing

The teams selected for the incubator programme get to work on their business through themed weeks that deal with subjects such as business plan, educational impact and marketing. Participants also have the chance to receive additional support from mentors in the field.

The results of companies who have previously participated in EdTech Incubator Helsinki are promising. Start-ups that have completed the Incubator programme have praised the city’s help in, among other things, setting up a business, finding partners, building a business and product plan and improving the pedagogical impact of the product to a new level.

“The guidance and support we received during the programme has been incredible. The trainers are business and teaching experts and our mentors are experienced entrepreneurs who know the recipe for both a successful and unsuccessful business,” says the founder of LiveTalks, Tiago da Silva Carvalho, who participated in the incubator programme.

The selected teams get to utilise all Helsinki Education Hub services, such as free shared premises in Helsinki city centre as well as a broad selection of events in the field. Moreover, participants will have the opportunity to make use of the city’s experimental platform services and co-create their solutions together with the users. At the end of the programme, the teams will also have the chance to pitch their innovation to leading experts, investors and influencers in the field. This acts as a springboard for the company’s next steps towards growth and scalability.

“Everyone has been very nice and helpful here at the Hub. The community is also lively and full of like-minded people from different backgrounds. The space is most excellent for working and holding meetings. You never know who you might meet today: teachers, investors, researchers or a whole class could be walking through the doors,” da Silva Carvalho adds.
