Investigative team commences investigation into the data breach against the City of Helsinki

The Finnish Government has decided to launch an investigation into the exceptional incident concerning the data breach against the City of Helsinki.

The Finnish Government has decided to launch an investigation into the exceptional incident concerning the data breach against the City of Helsinki and has established an investigative team under the Safety Investigation Authority for this purpose. The investigation is estimated to take 9–12 months. The investigative team will draw up an investigation report on the investigation of the exceptional incident.

The City of Helsinki announced on Monday 8 July that it had submitted an additional report on the data breach to the Data Protection Ombudsman. The City’s own investigation into the data breach continues in cooperation with other authorities.
