For the first time, operational grants for arts and culture will be applied for in a new grant application service at https://avustukset.hel.fi/en/avustukset(Link leads to external service) in August. The service includes all of the city’s different grants, their descriptions and application criteria, as well as application forms.
An information event on applying for operational grants for culture will be held on Wednesday 14 August at 2–3.30 pm. The event will be held remotely through Teams, and there is no need to register in advance. You can find the participation link on the operational grants page.
Go to the operational grants for culture page.(Link leads to external service)
In the event, you will learn how to apply through the new service using new application forms. You will also learn about changes to the application and decision process and can ask questions from the culture grant coordinators. The main language of the event is Finnish, but you can also ask questions in Swedish and English.
Grant call hours are available
You can also get more information on how to apply from the culture grant coordinators, who have reserved separate call hours times on their calendars, especially in relation to operational grants and matters concerning new grants. The coordinators can also be reached by phone at other times, but these times are reserved especially for questions related to operational grants.
Arts and culture grants are awarded for artistic and cultural activities organised in Helsinki and open to the general public. The grants are directed at supporting activities that are geared towards Helsinki residents, bring people together and into contact with artistic and cultural content, and offer possibilities for encounters and interaction. Operational grants are intended for Helsinki-based registered organisations that have been operating as registered for at least one fiscal year.
