This year, the City of Helsinki will improve the attractiveness of Töölönlahdenpuisto Park and introduce new activities even before a more comprehensive refurbishment of the park.
Several features have already been completed in the area that residents will soon be able to enjoy. Among the completed features are the installation of furniture in the northern part of the park, the installation of climbing frames, a beach volleyball area and the seeding of meadow areas.
Work is also underway to complete the mulching of the lawn areas, lighting works, installation of furniture and small equipment on the south side of the park, as well as landscaping and finishing work around the areas that have already been built.
Construction is also underway on the park’s water features, vertical garden structures and a dance and performance stage. During week 28, new turf will be laid in the northern area.
There has been a slight delay in the completion schedule for the park due to equipment delivery times, but the city aims to complete the work on the activity equipment area in the coming weeks and work of the entire area by the end of July. Work will resume again in the autumn with the planting of trees, shrubs and bulbous plants.
