Instructions for tenants of city-owned rental apartments

The rental apartments of the City of Helsinki are rented out by three different parties: Housing Services of the City of Helsinki, Helsingin kaupungin Asunnot Oy (Heka) and Auroranlinna. Always agree on practical matters for your tenancy, such as the lease agreement, keys and parking spaces, with your lessor.

Instructions for Heka's tenants

Heka owns roughly 50,000 ARA rental apartments. Five local offices are in charge of the building management, maintenance and customer service for the tenants.Several Heka new builds are completed each year. 

Instructions for Auroranlinna's tenants

Auroranlinna owns approximately 4,200 non-subsidised rental apartments in about 100 locations in Helsinki and in one location in Kirkkonummi. Many Auroranlinna apartments are rented as company housing for City of Helsinki personnel. Apartments that are not needed as company housing when they become vacant are leased out as non-subsidised rental apartments.

Instructions for Housing Services' tenants

Housing Services rents out part of the city’s own non-subsidised apartments. Housing Services also rents out social welfare support housing.

During the period of residence, you can take care of matters electronically through the Housing Services' resident pages(Link leads to external service) .

Through the pages, you can report faults in the apartment, terminate the apartment’s lease agreement or send messages to the Housing Services. You need to create a username and password to log in to the site.
