To ensure the safety of road users, changes will be made to pedestrian and cycle routes at the earliest from the week starting 26 June. The pedestrian and cycle path at the northern end of Aurora Bridge will be closed north of Nordenskiöldinkatu. It will be replaced by a pedestrian and cycle path that starts by Children’s Traffic Town and runs along the west side of Laaksonkenttä. This path will be reopened in late June.
Site junction on Reijolankatu in June–July
In June–July, a new junction will be built on Reijolankatu to allow construction site traffic to access the Laakso Hospital area. Traffic will leave the construction site near Urheilukatu.
See the website for working hours and blasting schedules
Open-cut and underground excavation will have differing impacts on the surrounding area:
• The noise and dust caused by open-face blasting will naturally be louder and carry further than blasting carried out within the rock.
• Although the noise and dust from rock blasting will not disturb you, people in the vicinity will notice longer-lasting blast vibrations.
Due to the differing nature of the work being carried out, blasting schedules may vary. The working hours for rock excavation will be significantly longer.
See the project’s website for more detailed information about working hours and blasting schedules.
