The Ojapuisto sports park to be built in Mellunmäki will be a versatile sports park. The sports park will be built in Naulakallionpuisto, near Naulakallio School.

The new sports park will feature a multi-purpose field and a large artificial turf field, which can be frozen over in winter. The park will also feature a running track and training facilities for athletics. Dressing rooms will be built adjacent to the storage facilities. There will also be an outdoor exercise area near the fields.

Upon completion, the new sports park will replace the current stone dust field in Naulakallionpuisto. On weekdays, the fields of the new sports park will be reserved for schools, while at other times, they will serve as a public exercise facility.

The sports park will be built in phases, and the aim is for the project to be completed in 2026.

Preparatory work for the construction project will begin on 10 September 2024. The first step will be to remove trees and thickets from the area, and more extensive pre-construction work is expected to begin in October.

The actual construction work will begin in 2025. During the contruction work, meadow vegetation, bushes and new trees will be planted in the sports park.
