The western part of Sibelius Park in Töölö will be renovated in 2023–2024. The project involves renovating sites such as the surroundings of the Sibelius Monument, the park walkways and the park’s playground. The park will also get a new exercise area and a fenced dog park for small dogs.

The work will advance in stages and the areas will be closed off as construction sites an area at a time so that as much of the park as possible can be kept open for public use.

The renovation will begin in the playground area in June–July. The aim is to have the playground ready in autumn 2023.

The renovation of the surroundings of the Sibelius Monument will start in the autumn once the tourist season slows down, and renovation work will be carried out in autumn, winter and spring. The aim is to have the surroundings of the monument and the new stop areas for tourist buses ready for use in early summer 2024.

Construction of an underground gritting material silo will begin in early winter. During the construction of the silo, excavation will also be carried out in the park.

The construction of the dog park will be started and the park will be completed in 2024.

As a separate project, the renovation of the privately owned Paulig villa located in the park has also started. Renovating the villa will cause construction site traffic in the southern parts of the park.

The park will be completed in autumn 2024, with the exception of the immediate surroundings of the Paulig villa where the renovation work may delay the construction of the park until 2025.

The contractor for the renovation of the Sibelius Park is VRJ Etelä-Suomi Oy.
