The City of Helsinki’s summer job voucher supports youth employment by reimbursing employers who hire youth with a summer job voucher. The city compensates employers with EUR 325 for every young person they hire who meets the voucher qualifications. The summer job must provide the young employee with at least 60 hours of work and pay a minimum salary of EUR 400. To qualify, the employer must be a registered company (i.e., not a private individual or a municipal or state organization) with a Finnish business ID and appropriate tax debt register information.
Summer job vouchers encourage companies to hire young people so they can develop their job skills. The aim of the vouchers, which are jointly organised by the youth community, businesses and the City of Helsinki, is to give teens positive working life experiences.
