Alppipuisto Park in Helsinki has traditionally organised a series of events taking place on summer weekends. This will continue also in the summer of 2025. The events have typically been music-focused and scheduled for July. Last summer, six diverse and free events were organised. They brought together a large audience of different ages and backgrounds to enjoy music and the sense of community outdoors. The 2024 event package was implemented by Elephantasy – Funky Family Picnic, Afrojazz Club goes Alppipuisto, Elmun kansanjuhla, Baroque Picnic, Alppimuisto – Free Open Air and Helsinki Folk Festival Puistokarkelot.

The City of Helsinki participates in the project with a grant amounting to approximately EUR 80,000. The city hopes to attract new operators that would offer diverse cultural content to the city’s residents. The application period is now open and will continue until Monday, 9 December 2024 at 16.00. Grant decisions for the Alppipuisto events will be made at the beginning of 2025.

The grant targeting Alppipuisto Park’s summer is part of the project grants for arts and culture grants. It can be applied for using the project grant application form in the City of Helsinki’s grant application e-service.
