The City awards grants for welfare and health promotion, social welfare and health care and rescue services for activities that support the objectives of the current City Strategy and welfare and health promotion plan. The City may also award grants for activities linked to accident prevention, rescue operations or civil defence. The City awards resident participation grants for the maintenance of community centres and the coordination of their activities, as well as for the development of structures and methods that improve residents' participation.
Updated forms used in the grant application process
The grant application process for 2026 uses updated application forms. The new forms feature additional questions based on the grant sum being applied for. The questions concern the target group and benefits of the activities for which the grant is being applied for, as well as changes that the activities will achieve. We will hold a training event regarding demonstrating the impact of the activities. The training event will be led by specialist Saila Tykkyläinen from Vaikuttava Yritys Oy.
The event will be held on 31 March at 9.00 on City Hall Event Square at Pohjois-Esplanadi 11–13. If you are unable to attend in person, you can also watch the event on Helsinki Channel (in Finnish).
