Occasional traffic stops will take place on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting on 17 February.
Temporary traffic arrangements are linked to blasting work that is carried out to build a new street, Sahamyllynrinne.
Expected traffic stops on the section of the Lahti Highway between Koskelantie and the Maaherrantie bridge in Viikki:
- Occasional traffic stops will take place weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in both the north and south-bound lanes.
- One stop will last a maximum of 8 minutes. There will be no more than five stops per day.
- One lane out of three will be closed in both direction between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.. In addition, the speed limit will be lowered on the section.
- At other times, normal traffic arrangements and speed limits apply (all lanes in use).
- Efforts will be made to minimise traffic interruptions, which is the reason for carrying out the demolition work outside of rush hour.
- The works are estimated to last until the end of May 2025.
This spring, motor vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic will occasionally be stopped on Hernepellontie due to the blasting work.
