150 events about learning, well-being and pedagogy: Helsinki Education Week 30 October−3 November

Anyone interested in learning and education can look forward to a spectacular programme exploring topics each more interesting than the last next week when Helsinki Education Week and its 150 events kick off. Some of the events will be held online, while others will be held on-site in different parts of Helsinki.

The diverse and plentiful programme of Helsinki Education Week will provide tips and tools for teaching and education work as well as opportunities for discussion and co-development. All of the events are free of charge, and there will be events available in Finnish, Swedish and English.

The theme week is now being held for the fifth time. This year, the central theme of Helsinki Education Week is well-being. Well-being and health are prerequisites for learning. In recognition of this, the events of the week will include presentations on topics such as the well-being of learners, operating methods that promote safety, learning support and practicing emotional skills. 

Tips for practical work, and discussions and co-development 

The theme week will provide plenty of good practical tips and tools for teaching and education work from early childhood education to secondary education. Attendees can look forward to learning about various digital teaching tools and AI-based applications and receiving tips for teacher cooperation, outdoor learning, sparking an interest in reading, environmental education and play-based science education, for example. The programme also offers insights on developing management.

The programme also offers plenty of opportunities for discussion and co-development on topics such as building a sustainable future, managing an inclusive operating culture and flexible learning environments. The theme week will also facilitate cooperation and interaction with international learning experts. 

The programme of the week features events that are sure to interest the guardians of learners as well. The topics of the events aimed at guardians include the well-being of secondary education students, cooperation between home and school, learning difficulties and working together with families with different language and cultural backgrounds.
