Health stations

The health stations will be closed for Christmas from Saturday, 24 December to Monday, 26 December, for the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day on Saturday, 31 December and Sunday, 1 January and for the Epiphany on Friday, 6 January.

All health stations will be open on working days from Monday, 19 December to Thursday, 5 January at 8.00–16.00. Centralised contraceptive counselling in Kalasatama will be closed from 27 December to 28 December.

Telephone Health Service provides information on health services in Helsinki and advice on the treatment of illnesses around the clock (24 h, 7 days/week) at the cost of a normal call.

Urgent and emergency care

If you need urgent care, complete the symptom checker at omaolo.fi or contact the health station Monday–Friday at 8.00–16.00 or at other times call the Medical Helpline, +358 116 117.

Please call the free-of-charge Medical Helpline, tel. +358 116 117, before you go to the emergency services. The helpline is open round the clock.

Helsinki residents can also seek medical attention at the Jorvi Joint Emergency Department in Espoo, Turuntie 150, or at the Peijas Joint Emergency Department in Vantaa, Sairaalakatu 1.

Treatment of COVID-19

Helsinki residents can complete the symptom checker online at omaolo.fi. The service provides instructions on how to proceed and, if necessary, you can book an appointment for COVID-19 testing. The Coronavirus Helpline is open Monday–Friday at 8.00–16.00, tel. +358 9 816 10024.

Emergency oral healthcare and appointment booking

Emergency oral health care services will be available on Christmas from 24 December to 26 December, on the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day on 31 December and 1 January and on the Epiphany on 6 January at Park Hospital, Stenbäckinkatu 11, Door C, from 9.00 to 21.00. The appointment booking service will be open 8.00–21.00, tel. +358 9 310 71110. Night-time emergency services will be available at Töölö Hospital Emergency Department, Töölönkatu 40, tel. +358 116 117.

Social and Crisis Emergency Services 24 h

Social and Crisis Emergency Services will be open 24/7 on Christmas, the New Year and Epiphany. Emergency Social Services, tel. +358 20 696 006, and Crisis Emergency Services, tel. +358 9 310 44222.
