Targeted grant for sports and grant to support regional sports activities are available for application from 11 March 2025 – welcome to an information event on 4 March

An information event open to everyone will be held to support the application process for a targeted grant to promote safer club activities and a grant to support regional sports activities on Tuesday 4 March 2025

The City of Helsinki grants approximately EUR 9 million annually for the promotion of sports and physical activities. Of the 2025 grant appropriation, a maximum of EUR 350,000 has been reserved for targeted grants for safer club activities and for grants to support regional sports activities, which will be applied for in March.

Targeted grants can be awarded to sports clubs in Helsinki for development work to promote safer exercise for children and young people in sports clubs. The grant to support regional sports activities, in turn, can be awarded to sports clubs and other associations and organisations promoting sports for low-threshold sports activities and development work for children and young people aged 9–18 years in Helsinki. The application period for both the grants will begin on 11 March 2025:

  • Targeted grant: promoting safer club activities 11 March − 4 April 2025 at 23.59
  • Grant to support regional sports activities 11 March − 4 April 2025 at 16.00

Teams application information event on 4 March at 17.00

To support the application process and project planning, Sports Services will organise an information event for those interested in applying for the targeted grant and the grant to support regional sports activities. The event will be held in Teams on Tuesday 4 March 2025 from 17.00 to 19.00. There is no need to sign up for the event in advance.
