
Nominate an active voice in the organisation sector for the Advisory Board
“At the Advisory Board for Organisations, we have discussed topics such as grants and operating conditions of organisations, and commented on issues such as facilities available to organisations in Helsinki. We hope to find active participants familiar with the field of organisations also for the next period of office, allowing us to continue our work for reinforcing the cooperation between the City and the organisations,” says Veera Vilkama, Specialist Secretary of the Advisory Board for Organisations.
The representatives for the 2025–2027 period of office of the Advisory Board for Organisations will be elected based on nominations submitted by the networks and groups in the organisation sector. Half of the Advisory Board for Organisations’ members will be replaced when the period of office changes.
Members from the following organisation groups will be elected for the new period of office:
- organisations for substance abuse prevention and rehabilitation
- organisations for preventing inequality
- organisations for youth and pre-teen children
- organisations for promoting immigrants’ integration and equality
- sports and leisure organisations
- organisations for the environment and transport
- organisations for safety and preparedness.
The organisational member and their deputy member can be from different organisations.

Duties of the organisational member
An organisational member of the Advisory Board for Organisations adds the perspectives of their own organisation group into the Board’s discussions and communicates about the Board’s actions to their own partner networks in Helsinki. The Advisory Board for Organisations will meet four times a year.
Duties of the Helsinki Advisory Board for Organisations
- Ensuring and communicating the opportunities for organisations to participate and influence.
- Expressing the views of organisations through presentations, statements and comments and participating in the City’s cooperation on promoting wellbeing and health.
- Promoting the cooperation between the City and the organisations and the mutual cooperation between the organisations in Helsinki.
